A New Generation of Leadership

A New Generation of LeadershipA New Generation of LeadershipA New Generation of Leadership

Platform

My top priorities to make Kingston more affordable, sustainable and easier to

get around. He understands that Kingston has become too unaffordable, that

our roads are horrible, and that the climate crisis isn’t getting properly

addressed. It’s our future at stake I am looking to become the first Gen-Z

councillor to help build a better future for the next seven generations.

AFFORDABLE HOUSING:

  1. Work with developers to create more affordable options for first-time buyers and develop special zoning for homes that are built with more modest finishes, a smaller size, and simpler designs. This back-to-basics approach could include houses under 1,000 square feet on smaller lots, and potentially duplex or four-plex options.
  2. .Work with the Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation (CMHC)and the Province of Ontario to bolster existing co-op housing organizations and facilitate the leveraging of equity by co-ops to take on debt for the maintenance of units and expansion.
  3. Continue the sleeping cabin project and expand on it.
  4. Work with the Provincial and Federal Governments to build more supportive housing spaces in Kingston with wrap-around services.

TRANSIT & CONNECTIVITY

  1. Build plastic roads that will make our roads more durable and cheaper to build. It's time to fix our roads.
  2. Expedite investments that increase connectivity of our greenways, sidewalks, and bike paths to make it easier and safer to leave your car at home
  3.  Pioneer a free transit pilot on one major express route

CLIMATE RESILIENCY & ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION

  1. Increase access to recreation and green spaces, along with upgrades to park and playground facilities.
  2. Establish new policies, incentives, regulations, and partnerships that impact our two largest greenhouse gas emissions sectors–buildings and transportation.
  3. Create a community renewable energy project that would benefit everyone.
  4.  Bring Kingston's largest corporate emitters on board the community drive to net zero.

COMPREHENSIVE & SUSTAINABLE LAND USE PLANNING:

  1. Revise the outdated Land Use Management Ordinance to allow the
  2. type of comprehensive land-use policy we need now that can address equity, smart growth, connectivity, and climate change mitigation.
  3. Prioritize transit-oriented and infill development to prevent sprawl and protect the rural buffer.
  4.  Reject the use of MZOs to override environmental protections

Small business support:

  1. Develop a cost-recovery economic plan for small business start-ups, including legal, accounting, human resources, and marketing services, during the first five years, when new enterprises are at their most vulnerable.
  2. Work with businesses and developers to help transform downtown Kingston to meet the needs of residents, workers, and business owners and make downtown Kingston more accessible and a better place for businesses to operate.

I am currently canvassing all of Portsmouth so I can find out what your

priorities are. This is why I have given out my personal email and cell phone

number for you to tell him directly how he can help you:
